Interviewed by Kathryn M. Welling
Larry Siegel’s Highly Contrary, Surprisingly Practical Future Vision
There’s no getting around it. For all his financial acumen, intellectual firepower and years of experience in trying to meld the minds of Wall Street to scholarly research, Larry Siegel remains both highly rational and a dogged optimist. Amazing.
Larry is also a familiar face to faithful WOWS readers, having shared his insights in numerous interviews and articles over the years. This time he’s back for the wholly optimistic purpose of explaining why, despite all indications to the contrary, we’re not going to hell in a handbasket. (We did the interview in late June, before anyone knew the “Delta variant,” as infectious as chickenpox, would have even us fully-vaccinated types digging out our masks again. But Larry’s optimism is unwavering.)
More specifically, Larry wrote a great book, “Fewer, Richer, Greener,” which he had the unmitigated bad luck to release just before COVID-19 sucked all the oxygen out of the world. But, in his iconoclastic and contrary take on how to cure our climate woes and build a prosperous world for generations to come, Larry remains a true believer. In fact, he’s out to re-launch his book.
